31st December 2008...

12:30 PM The year passed by like any other, by my life has definitely changed. 31st December 2007 I was enjoying my day with Charu and Anjali in London planning for the evening...there was only one plan, to go to the river and watch Europe's best 10 minute fireworks on the stuck of mid-night at Big-Ben with famous London Eye as the background. It’s a must watch event at-least once in ones lifetime. It's amazing to see how Rs. 10.5 crore can be burnt in 10 minutes (London spend ₤1.3 million on 1st Jan 2008 on fireworks). Anyways this year I will watch it again but on youtube. Year started with preparations for the SAP PI certification, which I cleared in the first week of Jan then came the tough decision of coming back to India for good, used to wonder whether the decision is gonna be good or not…finally decided when Vishal visited and we were having pints of Foster’s and Stella, with bowl of chips at Metropolitan Bar on Baker Street outside station, along with Rajoo, I mean Raj

WE CAN....DO WE??

It was last week when we got a mail from our manager stating that we have received this quarter's team budget. As soon as we get this mail like every time a buzz of deciding what to do with the funds flows in the team... thats the only point of discussion until we decide on something, like last time we got a useless trolly -laptop bag and we went for a team lunch at Barbeque Nation. This time somebody wants to got for 3 lunches (at decent restaurants and that too Indian), I don't understand why people don't want to experiment with new cuisines/places. Anyways back to the options some what voucher to spend on their own but thats not possible as the whole purpose of the budget is to developing team bonding and it has to be spend in some team building activity....which is nothing but only going out for team lunch....pathetic. team building activity, people are not ready to stay back in the evening as they have to reach home, people cant come on Saturdays as they have ot

Fire Drill....

It was 3:30 on Wednesday afternoon when Peterson was playing a steady innings in 5th ODI against India at Cuttack, I was following ball by ball score on cricinfo.com suddenly there was some disturbance on speakers above my desk. We were sure it is about the fire drill, which everyone was aware of since morning. People had already made plans, what they are gonna do during that time...some were palnning for long tea/coffee break and most had plans to have early EOD from office. But unfortunately that was just the speaker check...the first failure of the drill. Later in 10 minutes we had proper announcement and siren announcing the evecuation of the office. The lady on the speaker was trying to sound like it was a panic situation, and she managed very well....she asked everyone just to leave the desks as it is and leave the office premises though staircase. As everyone was aware of the drill, they were pretty replaxed and were not at all understanding the criticalness of the situation/dri

Making Love Out of Nothing at All...

I was very excited about the 22nd feature of Double-O, planned for a show on the first day...being friday cudn't go for the first show at 10:00 AM but booked 2 tickets, for Anju and myself for 8:15 PM show. At office I was in full mood of enjoying BOND, picked her at 7:00 PM from her office and headed towards Ambience. I had planned for dinner before the movie but Gurgaon's traffic came in our way, managed to be at The Mall at 7:50 PM with no time left for dinner. While picking up advance booking tickets, I asked Anju, tried with whole day of work, to go and grab something to eat as there is not much time left and these PVR ppl will not allow us to take outside food. But she waited for me while I stood in the queue to collect the tickets. Finally managed to get the tickets at 5 minutes before the show with no time for dinner. We went for the show and I enjoyed it throughly, great chases, gadgets, suits, scotch and Vesper Martini. While deciding to go for QoS, I never realized t

Missing old friend....

While reading one of my friend's blog about his new South Korean flatmate, I remembered my flatmate...Cassiano Sandrini, half Italian-half Brazilian, who had never been to Italy, until I met and don't even know how to speak it. He might have learned a bit when he traveled there to meet his long lost family. Sandrini...sounds like some distant cousin of Michael Corleone from the pages of The Godfather. He was introduced to me one of my earlier flatmate, Venessa, who was again from Brazil...no need to raise your eyes guys!! He landed in London with a bag full of books and few clothes, unlike us Indians who travels with loads of clothes. As far as I remember, he bought his jacket after landing. Anyways...he came to London to my great suprise, only to learn English. Learn English!!!! yaar its heights, we guys have to take IELTS to enter UK and he was there to study for it take IELTS. He was always scarred about taking this test, I hope he has taken it by now. (have you taken it???

Its all about Convenience...

Guys....these are the words which one of my buddy uses very often...IT'S ALL ABOUT CONVENIENCE. In fact he is right, whatever we do, we think, we assume, we buy...whatever, wherever and whenever...its all about our comfort. You are driving 800 and somebody is driving on a higher speed then he is an IDIOT and if at the same time someone is driving slow then he is STUPID....so its all about your driving...isn't it??? It's true that "Anyone who drives faster or slower than you is a BAD DRIVER".... You are in good mood at Accenture and having great day and somebody is mourning about the same work something then he is a MORON... You are eating Raj Kachori at BikanerWala in Sector 29, Gurgaon and person on next table is having Chinese then he is wasting his money and doent know where to eat what..... You are traveling in Gujarat Mail and fellow travelers are talking about the topic that interests you then you enjoy n participate and if not then....they are the DUMBEST p

Let me share....

I was thinking about writing blogs for quite a some time now. Every-time I thought of writing, I use to spend my time thinking about the name of the blog...used to look thesaurus, quotations and other resources on internet to keep some extraordinary name of the blog, rather than investing that time to write something meaningful. Today while having evening tea in the balcony of our new flat at Gurgaon, my wife, Anjali relaxing in her recent possession Papasan chair. Papasan Chair*....oh my god, Anjali saw this variety of occasional chair first time in London around 2 years back at Pier* on Tottenham Court Road and fell in love with it instantly. It was like "Love at First Sight"...unlike her feeling for me , in 2001, which was just "Crush at First Sight".... Anyways, we didn't buy it then as it was exorbitantly priced at £299.99. Now it has come down to just £90 in the same store but we recently bought it at mere Rs.2,400, which is just £30. How Smart!! It is pop
